Vinyl Archaeology Series at MARKK Hamburg
Just before I went on summer holiday the MARKK aka the museum formerly known as “Museum für Völkerkunde” aka the Ethnologic museum of Hamburg called me with exciting news: Their new team found a quite uncontextualized collection of about 5000 vinyl records from all over the world and they invited me to have a look. Of course more eyes see more than my eyes so it took us a few minutes to set up a series of vinyl talks taking place in their “Zwischenraum”. Until June 2020 we will host six vinyl archaeologists/outernational deejays to dive into the archive for two days and to let us hear their results and stories. First up is Bochum’s finest Guy Dermosessian who will focus on the large African part of the collection with excursions into the smaller Lebanese section. Free entry!

Please note: This talk will be held in german language but we’ll be happy to translate everything!
